Updating palm desktop
It is provided with a suite of basic applications for personal information management.
Following Palm's purchase of the Palm trademark, the currently licensed version from ACCESS was renamed Garnet OS.
The system supports data synchronization to another PC via its Hot Sync technology over a serial interface. Palm OS 2.0 was introduced on March 10, 1997 with the Palm Pilot Personal and Professional.
This version adds TCP/IP network, network Hot Sync, and display backlight support. Two new applications, Mail and Expense are added, and the standard PIM applications have been enhanced.
External file systems are a radical change to the operating system's previous in-place execution.
Now, application code and data need to be loaded into the device's RAM, similar to desktop operating system behavior.
